Chairman Davaasuren Sodnomdarjaa (Dr)

 
   

 

Davaasuren Sodnomdarjaa was appointed to chair the Financial Regulatory Commission (FRC) of Mongolia on July 30th, 2016 by the Parliament. 

Dr Davaasuren has an academic background in the field of economics and extensive experience in economics and finance. She held various positions in educational and financial sectors as a lecturer, researcher and advisor.

Prior to her appointment as the Chairman of FRC, she had served as Economic Advisor to Chairman of Mongolian People’s Party (2014-2016).

She began her professional career at the School of Economic Studies of National University of Mongolia as lecturer (1996-2003) and Professor and Head of Economics Studies (2010-2016).

Besides her career in educational sector, she held various positions in international financial and investment organizations in Mongolia. Her broad executive management positions included General Coordinator of “Sustainable Livelihood Project” funded by the World Bank Mongolia (2001-2003) and CEO of Microfinance Development Fund Mongolia (2003-2005).

She gained international experience in the USA from working at various institutions between 2005-2009, including Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, NeighborWorks America,USA.

Born in Mongolia and educated in overseas, Dr. Davaasuren has majored in economics. She is a graduate from University of Manchester, UK holding a postgraduate degree of Master of Science in Economics and Ph.D. degree from the University of New Hampshire, USA.
